Love the holidays! But, Oy! the Expenses!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! For most of us holidays are a happy time. We look forward to being with family and friends. As we all know, the holidays can be expensive. Proper financial planning for these events can make things much easier than the other options which entail charging up those credit cards and spending down more cash than anticipated.

Including holiday expenses in one's budget involve several factors. First, who are the recipients and what are the cost of gifts. The key is to give what is affordable. In Japan, it is not the actual gift that matters, but the time and thought in preparing the gift (the packaging is crucial). One does not have to spend a lot of money to convey the message of love and affection. Once you estimate the costs, then allocate a monthly contribution to your gift account. When Christmas and holidays are getting close, you now do not have to worry about funding these gifts. Another cost of the holidays deals with transportation and housing. Is it affordable to fly or drive? The cost of hotels, food and other accommodations place a real burden on many families. These costs should also be included in the budgeting process.

Financial planning, on the other hand, is not all about money. It is about enjoying life, having fun , reducing stress and living a satisfying life. Being with family and friends are all part of this. By getting together, non-financial dividends and gains are achieved which really are the important things in life. If finances are a problem, then the use of Skype, phone calls, letters, emails and other communication tools are always available. Please don't go into long-term debt for holiday giving. There are always things one can do which are tasteful and will not leave you in financial stress. Have a healthy and happy new year, and thank you for reading my column over the past year.

The GOLD COMPANY will help you achieve financial well being.
